Vertex Event Terms and Conditions
By registering for and/or attending Vertex: The Vertical Software Conference (“the Event”), hosted by Rainforest Pay, Inc. and Matrix (the “Event Hosts”), I (the Event attendee) agree to the following:
1. Acknowledgement of Risks and Assumption of Responsibility: I understand that my attendance and participation in the Event are voluntary. I acknowledge that there may be inherent risks associated with attending any event. I agree to assume full responsibility for my own safety, well-being, and my personal belongings. The Event Hosts and their affiliates, officers, employees, agents, and volunteers shall bear no liability for any personal injury, illness, property damage, loss, or other harm I might suffer in connection with my attendance at or travel to/from the Event, regardless of cause, unless caused by the gross negligence or willful misconduct of the Event Hosts.
2. Zero Liability of Event Hosts: To the maximum extent permitted by law, I agree to release, waive, and forever discharge the Event Hosts from any and all claims, demands, liabilities, actions, causes of action, costs, and expenses (including legal fees) whatsoever, arising out of or related to any loss, damage, or injury, including death, that may be sustained by me, or to any property belonging to me, whether caused by the negligence of the Host or otherwise, while participating in or attending the Event, or while in, on or upon the premises where the Event is being held.
3. Information Sharing with Sponsors: I understand that the Event is free to attend thanks to the support of our sponsors. I consent to the Event Hosts sharing my registration information (which may include my name, email address, company, and job title, as well as other provided information) with the official sponsors of the Conference for their marketing and communication purposes. I understand that I can manage my communication preferences directly with these sponsors.1.
3.1 AWS. Amazon Web Services (“AWS”) is a sponsor of the Event. I’d like the Event Hosts to provide my contact information to Amazon Web Services so AWS can share the latest AWS news and offers with me by email, post, or telephone. I may unsubscribe from receiving news and offers from AWS at any time by following the instructions in the communications received. AWS handles my information as described in the AWS Privacy Notice.
4. Event Cancellation, Postponement, or Modification (Force Majeure): I acknowledge that the Host reserves the right to cancel, postpone, or modify the Event at any time due to unforeseen circumstances or events beyond its reasonable control. This includes, but is not limited to, acts of God, war, terrorism, government regulation, disaster, strikes, civil disorder, public health crises, or any other emergency making it illegal, inadvisable, or impossible to hold the Event ("Force Majeure"). The Host will endeavor to notify attendees of such changes, but shall not be liable for any loss or damages, including travel or accommodation costs, incurred by attendees due to such cancellation, postponement, or modification. As this is a free event, no refunds will be applicable.
5. Photography, Audio, and Video Release: I grant the Host the irrevocable and unrestricted right to capture and use my image, likeness, voice, and statements as recorded by photography, audio, or video at the Event ("Recordings"). I agree that the Host may use these Recordings for any lawful purpose, including but not limited to publicity, advertising, marketing, and archival purposes, in any and all media, now known or hereafter devised, worldwide, in perpetuity, without any further compensation, permission, or notification to me.
6. Code of Conduct: I agree to conduct myself in a professional and respectful manner at all times during the Event. The Host reserves the right to refuse entry to or remove any individual from the Event who, in the Host’s sole discretion, is engaging in disruptive, disrespectful, or unsafe behavior, or otherwise failing to comply with the Event's code of conduct (which may be provided separately or posted at the Event).
7. Personal Property: I acknowledge that I am solely responsible for my personal property. The Host is not responsible for any lost, stolen, or damaged personal items.
8. Changes to Terms: The Host reserves the right to update these Terms and Conditions at any time. Continued attendance at the Event following any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
9. Governing Law: These Terms and Conditions shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Delaware without regard to its conflict of law principles.
